The first rule to follow when we play in a poker freeroll is to be patient. This is the most important quality a poker player should have to play well in freerolls tournaments. A very important thing we should keep in mind is that in freerolls normally there are hundreds or thousands of poker players and they tend to last for hours.
Multi-table freeroll tournaments frequently have ten players sitting at the table. This is good in the sense that we do not have to adapt our game as the table has less and less players, but it also means that when we have a good poker hand we have to play it aggressively.
At the same time we play good poker hands aggressively, we have to maintain control and play fewer hands. We should not follow hunches as we play poker, we should sit relaxed and play tight and wait for good poker hands to arrive, then play them aggressively. One golden rule we should follow is never to play the hands that contain a card inferior to eight.
We should make the most of our position in the poker table. For example, if we are first to bet and get a K10, it is not a good poker hand. There are nine poker players after us and if any of them has AA, KK or KQ, we can lose the hand. However, if we are last to play and if we just have to call the blind or check, then K10 is a good poker hand.
