On 4th July legendary poker players including Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, Daniel Negreanu, and Antonio Esfandiari sat on the Tournament of Champions tables to play for the title and the $500,000 jackpot at stake. After 14 hours of poker hands and fierce competition, only one of them was proclaimed the winner of the poker championship: Huck Seed.

Just one hour after the tournament started Mike Matusow, who went from 80,000 poker chips to 24,000, was out of the game. The final table of the Tournament of Champions included Annie Duke, Joe Hachem, Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Huck Seed, Jennifer Harman, T.J. CLoutier, and Howard Lederer.

Seidel was the first poker player to leave the table after Annie Duke responded to his call and showed her pocket aces while Seidel flipped up his Qc-8h, in what was one of the most exciting poker hands of the night. The flop was Kc-Ac-Ks and Duke got a full house while Seidel was left with a royal flash draw. The turn was Jc and the jack of spades was the last poker card to show and the one that sent Seidel home.

The two last players in the poker table were Howard Lederer and Huck Seed. After an hour of good poker the final poker hand arrived and Seed took home the title and the money, plus the great honor of winning the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions.
